Peace be upon you

On my behalf and on behalf of the Democratic Southern Assembly (TAJ)-it’s headquartered based in London, the United Kingdom and struggles peacefully for self-determination to South Yemen. I would like confirm that our country-South Yemen is now under the occupation of North Yemen since the1994 summer’s war.

During the 12 years of occupying our country- the South- by Sanaa’s regime it has been proved clearly that this regime wants from the South only the land and the wealth, but the southern people has been downtrodden and brought under the occupation to a stage where it can not be condoned or tolerated. The occupation has made the land and the people of the south as a booty of war and has brought every southerner to the brink of deterioration

.

The southerners are determined to expel the brutal northern Yemeni occupation and restore their independent state with sovereignty over its borders prior to 22nd May 1990. Therefore we are making available to you the following:

1. The peaceful unity has been ended after the regime of Sana’a had waged its war and occupied the South in the summer 1994. During that war the occupiers used all sorts of weapons such as destroyed missiles, artillery, and aviation. They buried the unity under the chains of the tanks and feet of armies.

That comprehensive war lasted for 67 days resulted in the fall of the South under the occupation since 7-7 / 1994. Hence all the international covenants on people living under occupation must be applied.

2. The Southerners reject all results of that war and the authority of the occupation’s regime as well. Also they resist all practices of the occupiers on the land of the South such as political, sectarian and tribal repression, oppression, crowding out southerners from all spheres of life including work, education, health service, participation in the power and so many other crimes. They resist all sorts of occupier’s crimes like erasing of the identity, falsifying the history, looting and stealing wealth, illegitimate sale of land and property of the southern .The occupiers have been killing our people physiologically and psychologically in the full glare of the world.

Hence Southerners are stick firmly to their full right to prosecute those who are involved in the crimes committed by the occupation’s regime in the appropriate time and place.

For all these reasons we call you to:

1. Bind the northern Yemeni occupation regime to implement the Security Council’s resolutions 924 and 931 and force it to withdraw all its military and government forces from the South and give the southerners the right to self-determination and statehood, Also enable the southerners to regain their usurped land and to live in peace like other people all over the world.

2. to stand by the right of South Yemen’s people to self- determination, freedom, independence and restoration of independent and sovereign state.

3. Not to support northern Yemeni’s regime and not to attend the occupation’s celebrations this year on 22nd May 2006 in Al-Hodaidah cit, which consecrate the occupation of the South only.
3. Support the South Yemen’s application to get membership of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the British Commonwealth Association and to restore its membership to the Arab League, Islamic world Organization, the United Nations and other regional and international organizations.

We call States, companies and investors to stop dealing with the occupation’s regime as it does not possess the rights to enter into conventions and to dispose of lands and f South Yemen’s wealth. We consider any such deals are to devote the occupation and contribute to illegal looting of the property and the wealth of the South. We will not be bound by the implementation of any agreements concluded by the occupation’s regime since 7-7 / 1994. We will appreciate any political and material support from states, companies and investors and those who stand by the Southerner’s rightful cause.

South Yemen’s people are eager to freedom, emancipation from northern Yemeni colonialism and appeal the international community to stand by our full right.

Yours sincerely,

Dr. / Abdullah Ahmed bin Ahmed
Chairman of the Southern Democratic Assembly (TAJ)
London 15 / 05 / 2006
