Thousands of people staged a mass protest in Ad Dali' this morning, in what has become known as the 'Day of the Southern Soldier'. They called for independence of South Yemen from North Yemen (the ex Yemen Arab Republic), raising banners in both English and Arabic in an effort to call out to the international community. Ad Dali', Yemen. 28/01/2010.



The protesters, who are calling for independence of South Yemen from the Arab Republic of Yemen, marched through the city, raising banners in both English and Arabic in an effort to call out to the international community. The protesters raised the pictures of the exiled President of the Democratic Republic of Yemen, Ali Salem, chanting "Ya Ali Salem we conduct your army of
liberation."
